About Studio September

Studio September is a founder-led interior architecture and design studio based in Edinburgh, working across the UK and beyond.

Neutral-toned material flatlay with natural textures, used by Studio September to reflect their interior architecture and design process in Edinburgh

Studio September creates architecture that speaks softly, but with intention.

We specialise in creating projects that are founded in craftsmanship and material integrity, with a thoughtful, context-led approach. Each building is different in scale and needs, and we approach each project with care and attention, responding to its unique context and the lives it holds.

The seamless integration of thoughtful architecture and interiors is central to our process. With each project, we ensure that every detail contributes an overall sense of warmth, clarity, and lasting impact.

We believe in quiet design: spaces that feel grounded, considered, and enduring.

We work closely with clients to create spaces that reflect their way of live, and create a sense of place

Craft & Materiality

The studio’s work is rooted in careful detailing, warm minimalism and honest materials, working alongside specialist artisans and craftspeople.

Holistic Integration

We deeply consider how interiors can be sensitively integrated into the broader architectural concepts and functionality.

About the Founder

Studio September was founded by Dee Farrell, whose design philosophy centres on the belief that architecture and interiors should evolve together to create cohesive, harmonious spaces.

Originally from Ireland, Dee has worked at a number of award-winning practices across the UK and Paris — gaining experience in both architecture and interior design.

She studied architecture at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating with a Master’s with Distinction, and completed her professional qualifications at the University of Bath.

Beyond the studio, Dee draws inspiration from ceramics and travel — pursuits that continue to inform her approach to materiality, craft, and thoughtful design.

We work on projects of all sizes, from full renovations to smaller, design-led interventions.
